I am María-Albina Correa Malachowska, born in 1968 in Lima, Peru. My love for art led me to study interior design, painting, and sculpture. After my studies, I worked in interior design and upholstery textiles.
A significant opportunity arose when I designed for skilled weavers in the highlands of Peru, enhancing my design skills and deepening my appreciation for craftsmanship. My passion for design didn't stop there; I continued painting and designing interiors.
I'm passionate about oil painting, capturing the beauty of the ocean and architecture. I've moved to Sitges, Spain, in search of fresh inspiration.
Alongside my painting, I design silk scarves inspired by my art. Each unique design is based on my oil paintings, digitally printed in limited editions. I love sharing the joy of my work. Experience wearing a painting on a scarf and feel its beauty come to life.
The Design Process
The design process begins with the oil paint I want to use. I take a photograph of it and upload it to my computer. Then, I edit the image using design software to get the colors and attributes I need for the scarf. Once I'm happy with the digital version, I start designing the scarf itself, keeping in mind the appropriate proportions and colors.
Once the design is complete, I send it to a manufacturer specializing in silk printing. They print the design onto the silk fabric and finish it with a hand-rolled hem, which adds a special touch. When I receive the finished scarves, I carefully inspect each one to ensure they meet my high standards.
To present the scarves beautifully, I carefully wrap them in packaging. Each package includes a card showing the original painting on which the scarf is based, adding a personal touch and connecting the wearer to the artwork.
The entire process, from painting to creating the scarf, is a labor of love. I feel incredibly proud to see my artwork transformed into wearable pieces that can be enjoyed by others.
